The first working conference of the solar energy materials industry was held in Shanghai on August 6, 2020. Lin Jinxi, chairman of Changzhou Yamaton Co., Ltd. and vice president of the China Building Glass and Industrial Glass Association, Li Hui, assistant to the president, and leaders from 27 companies, totaling 41 people, attended the meeting; the meeting was chaired by Wang Dong, secretary of the Solar Energy Materials Professional Committee of the Glass Association.

Li Hui, assistant to the president of the association, first introduced that President Zhang Baiheng could not attend the meeting due to official business, and conveyed his sincere greetings to all the representatives and his requirements for the next step of the professional committee's work. He suggested that all enterprises should seriously study the trend of the international market after the epidemic and respond in a targeted manner. Li Hui, assistant to the president, requested that all participants should protect themselves during the meeting and not relax their epidemic prevention and control efforts. At the same time, he affirmed the efforts made by various enterprises in epidemic prevention and control and the good results achieved. And pointed out that "First, the photovoltaic industry still maintained a relatively stable trend in the first half of this year, and opportunities will outweigh challenges in the second half of the year. Second, we must follow the market-oriented development trend of the photovoltaic industry and adhere to the path of high-quality development. Third, we must unite as one, adhere to specialized development, and follow the path of self-development." Wang Dong, secretary of the professional committee, gave a detailed analysis of the development situation and characteristics of the photovoltaic industry in the first half of the year, introduced the current situation and future development trend of the photovoltaic materials industry under the impact of the epidemic, summarized the problems existing in the industry such as product quality, specifications and sizes, and business risks, and put forward the next step of industry work measures.

The participating enterprises reported on the epidemic prevention and control measures they had taken, as well as their production and operation conditions such as output, sales, and inventory, and put forward opinions and suggestions on the future development of the industry in response to the existing problems. After careful analysis and discussion, the meeting reached a total of 5 consensus points: First, we must adhere to the unwavering prevention and control of the epidemic; second, we must improve the industry standard system and formulate "Materials for Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules Part 1: Panel Glass", "Materials for Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules Part 2: Backsheet Glass", and "Standard Sizes of Glass for Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Modules"; third, we must establish an industry risk warning mechanism; fourth, we must prevent industry business risks; and fifth, we must unite as one and follow the path of industry self-development. In an atmosphere of inclusiveness, unity, and pragmatism, the representatives successfully completed all the items on the agenda of this meeting.
